#1. Open up new player registration. Even if it is a manual process where they have to send you an application, take a quiz, or even mail you a letter. Just let new people join.

#2. Make some changes in donations. Portable Forge, the most useful donation ever, make it $10 so every person buys one for their miner. Add pigment tickets. Change the prices so that people will actually be tempted to buy the stuff. Only 1 person has bought Legs of Embers that I know of. Donations could be a good revenue source, you just have to make them appeal to the players.

#3. AFK resource gathering... AFK miners are fun to kill, and it would add to the people online. Perhaps allow it, people playing the game for fun trumps worrying about the server's economy.

#4. Put demitals back in fel. The dark palace is fucking gay. It does not make sense. It gives people more stuff to do in fel anyways.

#5. PVP anywhere. Make it happen. Just make it happen. The system is not going to be perfect right from the start.

1) That's a given but not even sure where to go with this one as the shard does not really have much to go on right now.

2) There's a list of suggested donation items somewhere. Adding those in is an idea

3) You can only kill miners in felucca unless you're griefing them (which you aren't supposed to be doing). Sure, it might increase online count but you'd never talk to anyone as they'll all be bots gathering items for free while the people doing it legitimately get the axe (on top of other factors of why resource gathering while AFK is a rule in the first place). Increasing online count through a negative isn't going to solve anything IMO.

4) The palace was supposed to be better, till brunus forgot to restrict decay and it kind of vanished into the void (pun intended).

5) We would if we could but there's an issue with core right now that needs to be resolved before anything can be put onto the server.

Some of those are planned in the revamp. I can't commit any major changes to code until SQL is stable. #3, I've actually thought about it, but not sure yet. Problem is, people overdo it. People will register like 40 accounts and have tons of bots going non stop.

In fact the donation system will be much more easier to use, as it will query the SQL db as well as your paypal account and automatically put the item in your char's bank. Not sure yet how that will be coded, but it's doable. New items will always be added as well. Maybe even some "specialty" items that are only available at certain times of year.

The plan is to probably do a release of the SQL engine + new donation system + security audit system before we start on anything else.

Once it's tested stable of course.

it would be a voluntary thing, you would have to do something to turn on the pvp anywhere option.

Was thinking either an NPC or a ticket that was clearly available so people don't have to search all over the place for it. When activating it, there would be a gump with an accept/deny that would list the rules of the new system. There would also be some kind of rulebook or place where you could re-read the rules.

Although the system was still in its infancy, the basic reputation was there in terms of being able to attack each other. Can't recall if we tested it or not but it followed the rules of red's revised reputation system.

Some things we would need to consider in the future:
- Tag coloring: Either coloring the highlighted name in a certain color or adding a color mask to clearly identify those who are part of the system (kind of like factions and the orange names). Would need to be some kind of unique color such as brown or purple.

- Reputation precedence. Finding out which tag color would take precedence (faction orange would preside over pvpanywhere for example).

- Outside influence. Not being able to attack/heal/support/block etc etc a member of the pvpanywhere system unless you are also a part of the system.

- Guard zone attacking. Obviously, guard zones and towns should remain a safe haven in order to gather supplies and to do secure trades between members.

- Whether or not this system would also be of interest to thieves, whether or not they could steal from anyone from the same system. The downfall of course, being that they would also be part of the PVPsystem so could be killed at any time they pop up.

- Whether or not reputation rules would still apply or if it would be considered a free for all such as factions (IE: free killing without any reputation loss (Karma loss will likely still be there)). Could somebody get kill counted in this system by another member of the same system? Logically, I would say that it would work the same as factions with some kind of scoring system and leaderboard.
