Since I bought a house, the server payment is a really big dent in what I could be using to pay towards my loan. I could really use the donations so that we can come out even every month. Now I know the shard is practically dead, but I'm thinking of trying to revive it even before the revamp. That means opening up registrations, having a better donation system, and have more donation items. While we may have fallen behind in content, the content we do have is quite solid and bug free.
What other shard has remain up as long as ours without any crashes? Shards like Demise have finally caught up to us after many years, but their code is not mature and crashes often. Some of the code was not even created in house, making support harder. This is our advantage, most of our code is done in house and all code is fully audited before going live.
So that said, I want ideas for donation items that will not cause a imbalance or fairness issues but that you would buy.
Once SQL is fully tested and deemed ready for live, it will be released and the donation system will come with it. I am hoping to make it paypal based and be fully automatic. You log in to a web based interface with your UO account, choose a character, add the items to cart, check out, pay, and you get the items. That's the plan, anyway... pretty sure it's doable.
My home infrastructure is not yet in place so I can't do any coding now nor even fully access my email, but by the end of this week I should be fully setup and ready to start coding again. _________________

Mage Armor deed
for balance it should not be able to:
be used on artifacts
be used on crafted armor
This will give people more of a reason to loot spawns for good gear! and stop using arts and crafted as much.
For anyone who doesnt know what Mage armor deed means well, its a deed, and it gives your armor Mage Armor
Ps: yes that description was for the shard idiot that always asks "what exactly do u mean?" _________________ *IBH* 4 Lfe!

Not a bad idea but the future may hold changes towards materials and gear as the armor system has been in need of an overhaul for 5+ years, something which OSI has repeatedly failed to do (A crying shame as there are several armor pieces which look awesome but perform like crap).
If we do provide mage armor, we should probably also provide other properties that wouldn't cause an imbalance. Mage armor isn't too bad as it's just a tag and all armors have the same resists.

A pretty fair idea but it would need to have some restrictions. For example, at champion spawns or in the gauntlet. A cooldown would also be an idea. OSI recently released a new veteran reward crystal that would match the description perfectly.

I like this idea. Seeds do stack now though so not sure if it will be as useful once that change is applied to AOV (In terms of storage and stacking by similar). The idea is still favorable though, in terms of easy organization for ore/wood/gems/etc. Would have specific gump slots that sort according to color. |

I have an idea.
How about paying to have a chance to dual one of the staff members.
You win you get there armor. You loose you go to jail for like 5 hours. _________________

Fun idea, until everyone wants to start beating up the staff . Maybe for some kind of event but not entirely suitable for donation (I paid 20 bucks to go to jail).
Here's a few suggestions staff have had in the past that can be posted up for debate:
- Scrolls of forgiveness. You take these to a shrine (Ankh) and double click them while standing at the ankh. The amount of counts you will be forgived of can be a number we set on the scroll (Or for an authentic feel, goes by how high your fame is). Forgiveness comes with a price as you need to buy that scroll and using it also results in your fame going to 0. Think of it as being like sacrifice (Cept you lose ALL your fame in penance to removing your counts). This is just an overall idea, it can be a lot more simplistic than that if you like.
- Idols: These would be like polymorph items. They'd be blessed in your bag and allow you to turn into different creatures. You get no bonuses from these, they are purely for looks.
- Seventh and Eighth anniversary items as well as heritage tokens (They were given out on OSI anyways and the artifact rewards aren't uber insane to cause an unfair fluctuation). Players would also receive a token on AOV's birthday for free (Subject to debate amongst staff and devs of course).
- Dye tickets after careful consideration towards color rarity and fairness of existing tickets.
- Donation Cloaks (Would have the donation tag on them and have small bonuses).
- Name, Race and gender change tokens/deeds. Although there will be options in the game of converting a few of these, these will fast track the quests necessary.
- Seeker scope: Can be used by people in felucca to locate other players. Great for pkers (Subject to fairness debate).
- Item alterer: Controversial, but would allow a player to change the look of an item into something similar: IE: change a kasa into another equivalent hat.
- Smaller skill choosers: Instead of 7x gm skill choosers, maybe make a few smaller ones that cost a bit more than going the 7x route if you buy them individually but are great for those who are just looking to increase 1 or 2 skills.
- Various decoration items (Always easy to add).
Once we get a decent list going, we should run a list to see which items people would donate for and which are not to their liking. |

Seeds are not stacking for me so the seed basket would be a good one. Or special plant seeds with special abilities, perhaps one for str, agil, int, resistance to poison that last longer than 5 minutes, etc. Still a lot of work involved in keeping plants healthy so it wouldn't be just a hand out |

Ya, seeds stacking do not work on AOV yet as it was a more recent patch on OSI to allow them to stack. There's also a range of new plants on OSI and a few more special resources such as cocoa pulp and poppy dust. We'll have them once we get to a point where we can concentrate on content. |

At least you're taking this seriously.

Please suggest items of an appropriate nature. There have been younger players on the shard and this would not be a positive reflection on what the shard has to offer. _________________
