Named Creatures

In many UOML dungeons, you will find a lot of named creatures. These creatures can be quite difficult but at the same time, they can be quite rewarding. It is recommended that you bring a group of people to help kill some of these, as they aren't the friendliest creatures.

Here is a link that will show you the UOML Minor Artifacts:
http://www.uovalor.com/contentdb/index.php?sect=6&list=7

All UOML named creatures have a chance to drop a UOML minor artifact in your pack upon death:

The Twisted Weald

Swoop: Swoop is a maroon colored eagle with a sharp set of talons and a nasty attitude. It is very protective of its tree and will often swoop down to defend it. Swoop is actually quite powerful and its beak and claws can do quite a chunk of damage. What's worse is swoop also has the ability to pierce through armor, use crushing blow and reduce your physical resistance for a short period of time. Swoop does not possess any magic and is considered to be one of the easiest named creatures in the weald

Gnaw: Gnaw is a named dire wolf that's blueish in color. He seems to be the leader of the dire wolf clan and once attacked, he will often call his friends to help him in battle. Although he has a nasty bite, he does not do any special shots and can be taken out without too many problems. He is another one of the easier named creature in the twisted weald. Gnaw can also drop his fang which is needed to summon dreadhorn.

Lady Sabrix: She's quick and jet black in color. This spider doesn't like to let you go once she's got you in her grasp. Her worst attack is the ability to pierce through your armor, doing very large damage. She can do it twice in a row as well, so watch yourself. Sometimes her eye can be harvested from her corpse. This eye is needed to summon dreadhorn

Lady Lissith: She's not as quick as sabrix but she's still fairly dangerous. She's a darkish navy blue color. Her fangs are a lot sharper than sabrix's and they can rip right through your skin, causing you to bleed. Sometimes her silk can be found on her corpse. This special silk is needed to summon dreadhorn.

Silk: Silk is not hard to spot at all, seeing as she's white as snow. Silk is fairly week but her venom has the ability to paralyze you. She is the easiest named creature in the twisted weald.

Irk: Irk is a named changeling with beautiful blaze colored wings. Don't let that fool you though, Irk may look nice but he'll turn on you if he spots you. Seeing as irk is a changeling, he can turn into your form, so be careful when attacking him. Irk's brain can sometimes be found. This brain is needed to summon dreadhorn.

Guile: Guile, like Irk, is a named changeling. She's a bit more powerful than Irk, but not by a lot. She's green in color which sometimes camouflages with the swamps in the weald. Seeing as she's a changeling, she can turn into you and gain your attacks.

Spite: Spite is the hardest of all the named changelings. He is blood red, which should pose a warning to all foolish enough to attack him without backup. Beward if he turns into you and gains your powers.

Malefic: Malefic is a dark black spider that sits in the swamp are of the twisted weald, waiting for somebody to provide a good meal. Malefic is a lot more dangerous than the other named spiders as he's a dread spider. He'll fire magic at you like there's no tomorrow. Malefic can also dismount you, mortal strike you and do bleed attack with his piercing fangs so he's not to be under estimated.

Virulent: Virulent is incredibly viscious. He does not like anyone near his spider web and practically drools venom at the thought of a live meal. His speed makes him incredibly hostile and you may find it difficult to completely avoid him. Once he gets sight of you, he'll chase you to the ends of the earth. Virulent also has the nasty habit of teleporting on to you and providing a nasty array of magic and special shots. Not only can this beast cast magery and lethal poison you, he can also hit you twice in a row and make you bleed.

The Labyrinth

Flurry: Flurry is a named air elemental that can sometime be found in the labyrinth. Flurry is light blue in color and can fire spells at you. Flurry can often paralyze you with his cold fists while he fires magic at you in your paralyzed state. Although he's harder than a regular air elemental, he's very easy and 1 person can take him out without many problems

Mistal: Mistal is another named air elemental. She's greenish in color and a bit harder than flurry. She can cast magic just like flurry can but she can go into a frenzy and whirlwind all who are fighting around her. Her attacks are unpredictable and sometimes she can mortal strike you, other times she can paralyze. She's not so much harder than flurry and can usually be taken out by 1 person.

Tempest: Tempest is a black swirling air elemental. He's the hardest of the 3 named air elementals. He does high energy damage along with more powerful spells. He also has the ability to block damage and in a frenzy, cause a whirlwind.

Miasma: Miasma is a named scorpion in the labyrinth. She's highly aggressive and will stop at nothing to make sure you are dead. Her nasty attacks include the ability to mortal strike and poison at the same time. Along with the massive damage her claws can do, she's not to be under estimated. Although she does not have magic, she can still easily kill you. It is VERY unwise to run away from her, she will actually kill you faster. If you run away from her, she leaps to where you are and does another attack, usually killing you.

Pyre: This is one nasty piece of work. This phoenix is a bright, blazing bird and is quite aggressive. He is said to protect the minotaur's home from invaders, and he does a good job at that. Not only does his magic truly hurt, he can still expel heat like other phoenix, in fact, his hurts more. He can also paralyze you with his grasp and cause you to bleed with his sharp talons.

Grim: This blaze colored drake is quite a beast. He hits pretty hard but beware the breath on this thing. At full hits, his breath will likely kill you (If you survived, you had better heal and take cover before he decides to do it again).

Rend: Now this is a beast you don't want to play around with. Think of 5 reptalons shoved together. He's dark grey in color and can breathe a nasty insta kill fireball. What's worse is he has the same paralyzing roar as the other reptalons, so you're toast if he decides to do that. Killing this beast is rewarding however, as you get a generously large chance at a UOML martie from this thing.

The Blighted Grove

Coil: Coil is a fast, neon green colored snake that lives in the blighted grove. Coil can cause a mortal strike and can double strike as well (Not to mention lethal poison you).

Thrasher: Thrasher is a dark black alligator that spends its times in the corrupted swamps of the blighted grove. It loves to chase people and can do armor ignore and knock you off your mount. Other than that, he's not very difficult

Tangle: Tangle is a massive red bog thing that lurks around swamps in the blighted grove. It acts just like a regular bog thing but hits a lot harder and can use crushing blow and concussion blow with its massive plantlike arms.

Saliva: This soapy blue harpy is the leader of the harpies in the cave of the blighted grove. She's fairly easy and is not all that different from regular harpies. She hits a bit harder and can sometimes reduce your resistance to energy for a short amount of time, but that's about it. She sometimes drops her feathers which are needed to summon Lady Melisande.

Abscess: This is the blighted grove version of rend from the labyrinth. Quite a nasty silver hydra. In addition to the moves a normal hydra can do, abscess can hit you twice in a row. Its fireballs are to be feared as it's possible they can kill 5 players at the same time.

Palace of Paroxysmus

Putrefier: The only named creature to exist in the Palace of Paroxysmus. Putrefier is a neon green balron with toxins flowing through its veins, corrupting it but at the same time, giving it power. The magic it can perform is obscene and brutal. You will likely need a gang to bring one of these down. Fortunately, it gives a decent chance of a UOML minor artifact

Bedlam

Lady Jennifyr: She's a named skeletal knight from the realm of the underworld. Greyish white in color and somewhat beautiful for a decaying mass of bones. She's still got all the fighting in her and for a skeleton, she hits surprisingly hard. Most people are surprised when they get killed by her. During battle, she will sometimes yell, alerting any skeletal undead of your presence. Soon you may find an army of skeletal knights, skeletons and skeletal mages after you.

Lady Marai: Lady Marai is a red skeletal knight. She hits hard, like Lady Jennifyr but she does not call her minions to attack you like Lady Jennifyr can. However, she does have the ability to use crushing blow. Mixed with her normal damage, a crushing blow can be particularly crippling.

Master Jonath: A dark black bone magi. He's one of the weaker named creatures in Bedlam but he can still be quite a threat due to his amount of hitpoints.

Master Mikhail: He is another named bone magi in Bedlam. He's not feared as much as the others and can be taken down a lot easier (Not the mention he usually lurks around inside the buildings, out of harm's way).

Master Theophilus: This dark mage certainly knows how to use magic. It's powerful and causes you to run off to heal very quickly. Theophilus also knows the ability of summoning so you might find yourself being attacked by a group of wraiths and bogles second Theophilus raises his hands to the sky.

Sir Patrick: This skeletal knight glows an eerie white color. He hits hard and can do the same drain attack as a succubus (But quite a bit more powerful). It may be hard to kill him with a ton of people after him as he'll keep draining all his life back.

Red Death: A nasty undead horse. Blood red in color, he sits around, minding his own business in the stable as he chews up dead deer to lap up the blood. Don't let him spot you though, or he might find a new piece of meat to tear up. He can whirlwind groups of people, causing area damage. His chaos breath is rather potent and you can often find yourself running away from him but not quite making it to safety in time as you get a free ticket to the afterlife. Undead creatures seem to favor his presence and will often come to aid him if he roars in pain.

Sanctuary

Moug-Guur: This named ettin is incredibly easy. If you die to him, you probably aren't ready for sanctuary. He's just a bit tougher than a regular ettin and can do crushing blow. Other than that, he's simple. As a bonus, he can be controlled with the dryad allure spell which can make him a decent ally.

Chiikkaha the Toothed: This rat mage is a bit more powerful than a regular rat mage, but not by a lot. Still, like other rat mages, if you underestimate him, he can kill you. Like Moug-Guur, he can also be controlled by dryad allure.

Szavetra: This succubus seems to be one of the leaders of sanctuary. Not many would dare push this succubus around, or she might drain the life right out of them. Oddly enough, she does not have a lot of magery and is magically weaker than a normal succubus, which might explain how she ended up in sanctuary. She does hit a lot harder than a normal succubus though. Her life leech is also twice as potent which makes her a real threat to the unprepared.

Painted Caves

Lurg: Lurg is a massive troglodyte. Out of all the named creatures, he is likely to be the one who can hit the hardest. A meleer may be surprised when they get one hit killed by a nasty special shot. Archers might be in for a surprise too as hitting him from a distance can cause the other troglodytes to gang up on you. He does give a decent chance at an artifact though

Grobu: Grobu is a dark black wolf with gorgeous fur. He's seen as a precious beast to the troglodytes and they don't like it when you enter their cave and threaten their pet. Grobu isn't very powerful, but he's quick and will chase you outside of the cave and give you a nasty bleed attack. Killing him also gives you a significant karma loss, so paladins might want to think twice about camping him.

Submersia Ruins

Dolphinus: In addition to carrying a key needed to summon Jormungand, Dolphinus can also drop uoml minor artifacts from time to time. Be warned that Dolphinus does not take kindly to mages and has been known to be extra mean to them

Leviath: In addition to carrying a key needed to summon Jormungand, Leviath can also drop uoml minor artifacts from time to time. Leviath is a massive leviathan and will not take kindly to anyone, especially dexxers (Meleers).

Queen Lamia: In addition to carrying a key needed to summon Jormungand, Queen Lamia can also drop uoml minor artifacts from time to time. Queen Lamia has a wide array of evil and unusual spells. Those using archery will want to prepare themselves against her as she takes great pride in killing those who choose to fight her with arrows and bolts.

Charybdis: In addition to carrying a key needed to summon Jormungand, Charybdis can also drop uoml minor artifacts from time to time. Charybdis is a blue whirwind of terror. Charybdis will be very hard to kill when the water vortexes in the area remain alive. Charybdis will also slice right through pets and summons so tamers are advised to keep away from it.

Scylla: In addition to carrying a key needed to summon Jormungand, Scylla can also drop uoml minor artifacts from time to time. Scylla is a brutal sea monster with a dark heart. She can prove to be a problem for anyone who chooses to attack her. Because of her numerous heads, she will often hit you numerous times in one hit, causing great damage.
